Spring launches RFID tracking on international deliveries

Spring, a Dutch company that provides delivery solutions, has announced it now offers ecommerce businesses RFID tracking on goods that are sent internationally. This new solution, called Tag & Trace, gives online retailers who send low value goods around the world the possibility to track at minimal cost.

Spring uses an RFID tag to offer this solution. The tag is attached to the parcel by the retailer and they, just as the end customer, can then get information on the goods being shipped and follow the delivery journey. Tag & Trace features up to 13 notifications at various stages of the journey. Retailer and customer can for example now see when the goods arrive, when it’s awaiting customs clearance and when the goods are out for delivery to the customer.

According to Spring, Tag & Trace is the first of its kind solution for retailers who send goods cross-border. Spring also announced the new service Packet Tracked, which lets retailers send their parcels and packets through the post.
